Connection request templates: a speaker you heard
You heard someone speak at an event, on a panel, or on a podcast, and the talk stuck with you.
Straightforward · 187/300 characters
Hi [Name], I heard your talk on [topic] at [Event]. The point about [detail] has stayed with me since, and I have already put part of it to work. Connecting to follow what you share next.
Warm · 184/300 characters
Hi [Name], your [Event] talk was the one I kept quoting on the way home. The [detail] framing untangled something I had been circling for months. Thank you for it, and glad to connect.
Brief · 85/300 characters
Hi [Name], caught your talk on [topic] at [Event]. It stuck with me. Glad to connect.
Before you send
- Name the specific point that landed, not just the talk title.
- Speakers rarely hear which idea stuck, telling them is memorable.
- Send the request within a few days of the event.
Replace every [bracketed part] with the real detail, and if the note claims you read something, read it first. The 300-character limit counts everything; the counts above already include the brackets.
