What is Social Selling Index (SSI)?
LinkedIn's 0 to 100 score of how actively you build a brand, find people, engage with content, and grow relationships on the platform.
The Social Selling Index is LinkedIn's own 0 to 100 score of how actively you use the platform's professional tools. LinkedIn describes it as measuring four things: establishing your professional brand, finding the right people, engaging with insights, and building relationships. Each pillar contributes up to 25 points, the score updates daily, and any signed-in member can view theirs free on LinkedIn's SSI page. It was built as a coaching metric for salespeople using Sales Navigator, and that origin should anchor how you read it: SSI measures activity on LinkedIn, not business results. Treat it accordingly. A rising score means you are completing profile fields, searching, posting, and connecting more, which is useful feedback if those are habits you are trying to build. It does not directly change your feed distribution, and a high SSI does not make clients or offers appear. Check it occasionally as a habit gauge rather than optimizing for the number itself.
